Riera ‘to remain’ for Dortmund as Frankfurt hold crisis talks | OneFootball

According to Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt held crisis talks after the 1-2 defeat to Hamburger SV. Albert Riera is set to remain in charge for Friday's Bundesliga match at Borussia Dortmund.

Doubts over the Spaniard's future had intensified, and captain Robin Koch was involved in the discussions. It was decided Riera would continue at least through the Dortmund fixture.

One factor behind that call is said to be that board member for sport Markus Krösche lacks time to secure a permanent successor before Friday. He is also not keen on naming an interim for the final two games of the season.

It is already considered certain that Riera will not remain beyond the current campaign.

Candidates mentioned include Alex Meier, Friedhelm Funkel and Adi Hütter.
