Right. I’m annoyed.

Gambar artikel:Right. I’m annoyed.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been annoyed before.

No doubt you guys and gals at The Mag have had a few comments that have pushed buttons – but NOT usually from me.

I’m usually fair. I’m above board. I keep things in perspective.

The bigger picture is always in my mind.

NOT AFTER LAST NIGHT. The gloves are off.

I can only hold back so much. THAT (Newcastle 0 West Ham 2) was a total and utter disgrace.

Having had a couple of days off and allowing the customary period to get “tanked up”, probably didn’t set the scene too well either. Had the result been the other way around then the mood would probably been quite the opposite.

Sadly not.

The “performance”, if you can call it such, was lacking in both urgency and purpose. Basic skill was absent without leave.

If I had turned in such an appearance at work, a severe talking to would have followed from my manager. A good old fashioned rollicking would have been dished out.

I sincerely hope Eddie Howe has the same sort of thinking this morning on the training ground. For to allow such a performance to escape criticism would be poor management, disgraceful performance analysis and quite frankly, negligence.

I’m not going to name players, it’s pointless. A collective malaise and general non-entity is what I’d call that 90 minutes. Rating the players? If anyone gets above a 4 I’d be highly surprised. They can hang their shirts back up on the hangers. No sweat or dirt was witnessed during this display.

I, the pessimist supreme, had us down to beat West Ham. No honestly. I was confident. That’ll teach me. It always happens. I get optimistic, things go wrong. You can set your clock to it. We’re three points down on the same game from last season. My annoyance grows.

I’m back at work today (Tuesday) so my mind will be distracted. It’s probably for the best, because as of writing, I can’t get the fury and annoyance out of my system. A Newcastle United 90 minutes of football hasn’t irritated me as much in an awful long time.

The end game? I’m at work today so the mind and body will be distracted. Frustrations will be tempered. Provided nobody mentions the game. Thankfully I don’t mingle with mackems in my line of work. Disciplinary hopefully avoided.

As for the repercussions from Eddie Howe and his team of coaches and backroom staff? Your guess is as good as mine.

Maybe this fan is jumping the gun. Letting his heart and emotion run away with things. Possibly letting the dust settle and allowing the clear light of day to shine through would be the wise choice.

Nah. Forget that. I’m STILL fuming.

Fair play to West Ham by the way. Let’s not take anything away from them. Sadly, it’s a rival for the top six. A poor rival at that. We LOST. I hope the lads that took to the field think on that.

But until we take to the field against Crystal Palace on Saturday, I hope a few home truths are thrown around the training ground.

AND a few pieces of crockery if I were around. The tea lady would have a busy week.

I’m going to invest myself in work and things other than football for a few days. It’s probably for the best. Although, working in hospitality might be a fools errand in that regard.

Did I mention that I was annoyed? Christmas is around the corner as well. Not great for my mood in general.

Keeping out of my way for a couple of days would be my best advice.

Getting something from Palace on Saturday would ease the tension somewhat…
