Rio court halts Vasco SAF intervention, authorises return of Pedrinho | OneFootball

The Rio de Janeiro court has suspended the judicial intervention at Vasco SAF, restoring Pedrinho to power in Vasco’s football department.

According to Globo.com, appellate judge César Felipe Cury granted a partial suspensive effect requested by Vasco, reinstating the removed board members until the appeal is finally decided.

The ruling also freezes the precautionary removal, cancels the appointment of the judicial intervenor, and lifts the bar on CRVG recomposing posts in the administration.

In his order, Cury described the first-instance intervention as a measure of very high intensity, and said there is not enough at this point to justify ousting the SAF administrators.

He noted the court-appointed administrator had suggested less severe steps focused on governance improvements rather than replacing management.

He also said no evidence of fraud, diversion of funds or wilful misconduct by managers has been identified so far, and that while governance failings and formal irregularities need correction, they do not warrant such a sweeping intervention at this stage.
