River have completed the return of Lucas Beltrán from Fiorentina, the forward having arrived in Alicante to join pre-season under Eduardo Coudet after his loan spell at Valencia.
According to SuperDepor.com, the 25-year-old has passed his medical and reached full agreement with the club, with a contract to be signed in the coming hours that would make him the fourth addition of this window.
Talks with Fiorentina were settled days ago, and once the clubs aligned, the final call rested with the player. He initially sought to continue in Europe, then accepted River’s proposal and approved personal terms.
The deal is a loan with a 500,000 euros fee and an obligation to buy for 6.7 million euros covering between 50 and 55 per cent of his rights. The package totals around 7.2 million euros, with the definitive purchase slated for next year once set objectives are met.
Beltrán landed on Wednesday and immediately linked up with team-mates and staff. This marks his third spell at River, following 2018-2021 and 2022-2023, plus a loan season at Colón between stints.
He returns after three seasons in Europe with Fiorentina and Valencia. Last term at Valencia he played 30 games, scoring three and assisting two. His record reads 98 games and 16 goals for Fiorentina, 78 games, 22 goals and eight assists for River, and 39 games with six goals for Colón, with his standout year coming in 2023 before moving to Italy.
