Rob Edwards coy on Matt Doherty’s Wolves future as injury rules him out | OneFootball

Rob Edwards says Matt Doherty’s future will become clearer in the coming weeks.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 34-year-old Irishman has played for the club for 13 years over two spells and is the only senior player out of contract this summer.

Edwards confirmed he will not be fit to face Burnley because of an ongoing knee issue, meaning he may already have played his final game.

The head coach would not be drawn on whether Doherty will stay or sign a new deal. "I don't want to talk about individuals right now," he said.

"Going into the last game weekend, things like that will become clearer over the next week or two."

He added that, as with players discussed from outside the club, he does not want to talk about individuals and will leave others to handle that for now.
