Rob Edwards says Wolves are targeting the right characters to fix their lack of experience and leadership, amid a move for Kieran Tripper.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, Wolves have agreed a two-year contract with the 35-year-old, with an option of a third year, subject to a medical and final paperwork. He is viewed as a vocal presence who will hold team-mates to account.
Edwards accepts the squad has been short in that area for some time and that it was not addressed last summer. He wants to rebalance the group and stresses that age is not the key factor, saying younger players with strong knowledge of English football can also lead.
Wolves have also tied Andre to a new deal, and there have been talks about bringing Raul Jimenez back to Molineux after his Fulham contract expired.
These early steps have been well received by large sections of the fan base after a season that ended in relegation. Edwards, criticised by some supporters late on, is set to oversee the summer rebuild and says he is energised to be part of the change, with some players staying and new faces arriving.
