Robert Pirès to hold testimonial at Saint-Symphorien in October | OneFootball

Robert Pirès will stage his testimonial at Metz’s Stade Saint-Symphorien on six October, he announced on Wednesday.

The former France international, now 52, plans to invite many of the stars he played alongside. The celebration comes 10 years after he ended his playing career.

Speaking at a press conference, he said it would be a party, that invitations would go out soon, and that he would do everything possible to have team-mates from France 98 and 2000 in attendance.

Born and developed in Reims, Pirès made his breakthrough with Metz from 1992 to 1998 before moving to Marseille from 1998 to 2000, Arsenal from 2000 to 2006, Villarreal from 2006 to 2010 and Aston Villa from 2010 to 2011.

He retired in 2016 after a spell in the Indian league. For France, the attacking midfielder scored 14 goals in 79 caps.
