Roberto Mancini nears move to this club

Roberto Mancini, former Italy national team coach, is on the verge of becoming the new head coach of Al Sadd in Qatar.

After guiding Italy to the European Championship title in 2021, Mancini failed to qualify the Azzurri for the 2022 World Cup. He stepped down in August 2023, then took charge of Saudi Arabia, before parting ways in October 2024.

Since then, the Italian coach has been a free agent. According to Fabrizio Romano, Al Sadd have made him a more attractive offer, and negotiations are progressing very well. Meanwhile, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the deal is already done: Mancini has reportedly agreed to a contract running until May 2026. Barring a last-minute twist, he will soon be taking charge of the Qatari club.
