Robin Risser marked his first France call-up by taking part in the squad’s traditional singing initiation ahead of the World Cup, choosing a Tiakola track.

According to L'Équipe, the RC Lens goalkeeper used a water bottle as a microphone and delivered Meuda in front of a subdued group.

The singing ritual is standard for new arrivals to the national team, which the 21-year-old duly observed.

Among the 26 players selected for the tournament from 11 June to 19 July in the United States, Canada and Mexico, Risser is the only newcomer.

Recently voted Ligue 1’s best goalkeeper at the Trophées UNFP, he will be third choice in the pecking order.
