Rodina are pressing to sign Senou Coulibaly from Omonia Nicosia, with negotiations under way for the French centre-back.

According to L'Équipe, the Moscow club, newly promoted to Russia’s top flight, favour French defensive profiles and have already signed former Saint-Étienne player Mickaël Nade for 1.2 million euros. Talks have started with Omonia regarding Coulibaly.

The Cypriot club want to keep the ex-Dijon defender, viewed as one of the league’s standout centre-backs since arriving in 2023. The 31-year-old, however, wants to join Rodina, so the Russians are persisting.

Rodina are said to have offered 1 million euros, including 300,000 euros in bonuses, to buy out the final two years of his contract.

Omonia are holding out for 1 million euros plus 1 million euros in bonuses.

Coulibaly has 40 Ligue 1 appearances and 57 in Ligue 2. He is waiting.
