Rodrigo Rêgo leaves Benfica for Brighton, loaned to Spain's Castellón | OneFootball

Rodrigo Rêgo has joined Spain's Castellón on loan from Brighton for the 2026/27 season.

The switch comes only weeks after he left Benfica for Brighton in a three point five million euros deal, signing a five-year contract, with Benfica retaining a percentage of any future sale. Brighton sporting director Mike Cave said the club have high expectations, are eager for him to play regularly, and will monitor his development this season.

Castellón compete in Spain's second division and last season contested promotion via the play-offs.

Rêgo made his senior debut in November 2025 under José Mourinho.

Last season he featured in five first-team matches, including one in the Champions League against Ajax, and played 21 times for Benfica B.
