Rodrigo Zalazar interest meets António Salvador’s hard line with Benfica | OneFootball

Benfica face another stern test in talks with Braga under António Salvador, with Rodrigo Zalazar now on the Lisbon club’s radar.

According to Glorioso 1904, dealings between the clubs have often proved difficult, with Bruma the lone recent exception. The winger moved in January 2025 for six point five million euros after a discreet process with few obstacles.

By contrast, a high-profile push for Al Musrati in the summer of 2021 faltered. Talks failed amid an inflexible stance from Braga’s hierarchy.

With Zalazar now being considered, Benfica are braced for exacting discussions with Salvador’s club.

The SAD led by Rui Costa knows it will need to do a lot to secure the Uruguayan, a recent history that underlines how hard it is to close deals with António Salvador.
