Rodrygo 'not to be used' under Mourinho at Real Madrid | OneFootball

Real Madrid have begun an overhaul after a trophyless 2025/26, with José Mourinho close to being named head coach.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Mourinho has told the club that Rodrygo Goes, Eduardo Camavinga, Franco Mastantuono, Fran Garcia, Raul Asencio and Dani Ceballos are not in his plans for next season.

Rodrygo joined Madrid from Santos in July 2019 for €45 million, and has since established himself as one of the game’s leading talents.

He will not play at the 2026 World Cup for Brazil after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus injury to his right knee in March, and he remains in rehabilitation following surgery.

Flamengo are prioritising three signings for the window opening on 20 July, a centre forward, a left back and a midfielder. Head coach Leonardo Jardim has requested a player to rotate with Arrascaeta, the No 10.

The Flamengo squad are on a break during the World Cup pause. Their next game is on 22 July against Chapecoense in round 19 of the Brasileirão. Before then they will hold a camp in Portugal with three friendlies against Falkirk, Birmingham and Benfica.
