Rodrygo sends message after successful knee surgery – ‘A new story begins today’ | OneFootball

Earlier today, Real Madrid announced that injured forward Rodrygo Goes underwent successful surgery on his knee after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus.

The injury occurred a week ago when Real Madrid faced Getafe in La Liga – a night on which the Brazilian forward was only returning after a one-month layoff with a different injury.

It was a devastating blow for the 25-year-old, who has endured a difficult past year or so, with form and fitness both deserting him on several occasions.

A new Rodrygo is born

Having suffered a serious injury which is likely to keep him out for close to a year, Rodrygo is not losing heart.

Taking to Instagram, the Real Madrid forward posted a message with photos of himself after undergoing surgery, affirming that a new story starts for him from today.

“A new story begins today. A new Rodrygo is born… I’m ready to go through this whole process and experience the blessings of God in my life,” Rodrygo wrote.

Expressing gratitude for all the love and support he has received since getting injured, he further added:

“Very grateful for each and every message of love. Isaiah 41:10.”

As mentioned previously, Rodrygo is likely to be out of action for almost a year and is staring at a long and hard road ahead of him.

Real Madrid, for their part, have extended their full support to the Brazilian international and have made it clear that his future is at the club, despite the difficult run he has endured over the past year.
