Rogério Maia 'to leave' Santos for Internacional | OneFootball

Rogério Maia has set in motion his exit from Santos to join Internacional, Rádio Gaúcha reports.

He joined in February last year after the departures of Arzul and Oscar Rodrigues amid changes in the football department. He had been working alongside Denis Gago, and Arzul’s return opened the door to Colorado.

Santos are expected to continue with Arzul and Denis Gago preparing the senior goalkeepers. Head coach Cuca currently has Gabriel Brazão, Diógenes and Rodrigo Falcão, plus João Pedro from the under-20s.

With the squad on holiday, Maia is expected to bid farewell in the coming days.

His previous posts include Internacional, Al-Ettifaq and Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, Caxias, Criciúma, Coritiba, Chapecoense, Vitória, Atlético-MG and Flamengo, plus Brazil under-20 and the Olympic set-up.

Born in Porto Alegre in 1973, Rogério Maia de Brum graduated in Physical Education from the Universidade Luterana do Brasil, ULBRA. He played in goal for Taquariense and Encantado, then began coaching Internacional’s youth teams in 1996.
