Roma’s training camp is set to kick off on Sunday at Trigoria.

For now, Gian Piero Gasperini will be able to count only on the players currently in the squad, including some Primavera players and those returning from loan spells.

Meanwhile, Frederic Massara continues to work on the transfer market, with a particular focus on strengthening the defense.

Among the players being monitored by the Giallorossi’s sporting director is Nayef Aguerd, who is reportedly interested in joining Roma on loan.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, however, West Ham are currently unwilling to let Aguerd leave on such a formula.

The names of Bologna’s John LucumÌ and Dinos Mavropanos are among the alternatives on Roma’s shortlist.
