Niccolò Pisilli is trying to shine with the Italy Under-21 team in the hope of earning more playing time with his Roma team.
The young Giallorossi midfielder, fresh off a stunning goal against Poland for the Azzurrini, has barely played so far and is hoping for a turnaround.
The 2004-born midfielder is a key player in Baldini’s national team midfield, and he could be loaned out for more playing time.
One team that would welcome him with open arms is Daniele De Rossi’s Genoa, who would reunite with the former Roma number 16 after a coaching stint in the capital.
The idea, according to today’s edition of La Repubblica di Genova, is a loan swap with Morten Frendrup, who would then become a new reinforcement for Gasperini’s midfield.
So far, the Dane has been a sure thing for the Grifone, having played in virtually every game: in the last three seasons prior to this one, the 2001-born player missed only five league games and collected six goals and five assists.
He’s certainly known not for his touch in front of goal but for his substance and the dirty work he does in front of the defense.
Given El Aynaoui’s imminent departure for the Africa Cup of Nations, Frendrup’s addition could prove crucial in expanding the squad and offering Gasperini an additional midfielder to alternate with Cristante and Koné.
Inter are also interested in the player, reportedly taking their first steps to secure the Rossoblu’s number 32.
