Roma locked in talks with Marseille for Greenwood deal | OneFootball

Mason Greenwood remains Roma’s top attacking target.

According to Il Tempo, the Giallorossi are not only working on the player’s appeal, but have already opened discussions with Marseille to explore the possibilities of a move.

The French club needs to settle their accounts by June 30th, and Greenwood is the player with the most significant transfer market in their squad.

The Englishman’s numbers explain the international interest. Last season, Greenwood scored 16 goals and provided seven assists in Ligue 1, adding three goals in the Champions League and six goals in the Coupe de France, confirming himself as one of Marseille’s key players this season.

Competition, however, is far from negligible.

In recent weeks, Juventus and Inter have conducted preliminary inquiries without pursuing the deal in depth, while Saudi Arabia has expressed concrete interest.

The Fenerbahçe option, however, has faded. The main obstacle in Roma’s path now appears to be Atlético Madrid.

The Spanish club has already initiated contact with both the player’s entourage and Marseille and is considered the most dangerous competitor in the race for the English striker.
