Roma’s transfer targets aren’t limited to attack this winter.
Sporting director Frederic Massara is also focusing on other areas, with a priority on strengthening the left flank.
The goal is to provide Gian Piero Gasperini with a reliable winger capable of ensuring tactical balance and allowing Wesley to return to the right flank.
The current squad isn’t entirely convincing. Angelino’s fitness remains uncertain, while Rensch has never really made an impact.
Also in the background is Tsimikas, whose loan deal Liverpool has opened up to the possibility of terminating six months early.
Olympiacos has reportedly expressed interest in the Greek full-back.
Among the most closely followed prospects is Fiorentina’s Niccolò Fortini, a promising youngster who is popular with the Giallorossi coaching staff.
Contacts between the clubs have intensified, but negotiations appear complex.
Fiorentina’s renewal proposal hasn’t convinced the player, yet Roma deems his valuation of approximately €20 million excessive.
And it is precisely in this context that, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the name of Club Brugge left-back Joaquín Seys is gaining increasing traction.
The Belgian, also valued at around €20 million, has apparently surpassed Fortini in Roma’s favour thanks to his broader international background, despite his young age.
