The prefecture of Rome said in a statement it has moved the Roma v Lazio derby to Monday at 20:45, switching it from Sunday 12:30 to avoid a clash with the Italian Open tennis final.
The change aims to manage public order and urban mobility alongside the tournament at the Foro Italico, with the fixture now scheduled for Monday 18 May.
Lega Serie A had unveiled the matchweek 37 programme on Monday, initially keeping the derby on Sunday despite weeks of concern from local authorities over the overlap with the tennis event.
Recent derbies around the Stadio Olimpico have seen incidents outside the ground, prompting heavy policing and two wide segregated areas for the rival supporters and ultras.
The ruling also affects matchweek 37 timing because, since 2025, clubs competing in the same race must play their final two games at the same hour.
Five teams, separated by five points, are chasing Champions League qualification: Napoli second on 70 points, Juventus third on 68, Milan fourth on 67, Roma fifth on 67 and Como sixth on 65.
As a result, Como v Parma, Genoa v Milan, Juventus v Fiorentina and Pisa v Napoli would also move to Monday at 20:45, though the league has not confirmed this and is considering an administrative court challenge.
