RB Leipzig are reportedly ‘considering’ whether to include a release clause in Yan Diomande’s terms if he signs a new deal.
It was claimed last week that the German outfit were preparing to reward Diomande for his ‘outstanding’ form by offering him an improved contract.

It comes less than a year after the youngster put pen to paper on his five-year deal at the Red Bull Arena, following a £17 million switch from Leganes last summer.
He took little to no time to transition to the German top flight; by matchweek eight, Diomande ignited a run of six goal contributions in three successive matches. At the start of December, he notched his first hat-trick for Leipzig in a 6-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Unsurprisingly, the teenager is now a mainstay in Ole Werner’s starting XI. He has taken his tally up to 11 goals and eight assists in the 30 appearances he’s made across all competitions, doing so in just 2,205 minutes of action.
Such efforts make it crystal clear why Diomande is poised to be one of the major topics of the upcoming transfer window, as he is now being targeted by a host of top clubs across Europe – Manchester United being one.
Indeed, the Red Devils have begun sizing up a move for the starlet as they prepare to sanction the departures of three attackers: Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund and Jadon Sancho.
The potential addition of a release clause could make any move considerably more straightforward – it’s also how they signed Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers pretty much as soon as the window opened last year.
However, it’s thought Leipzig value Diomande in the region of £87m, so it remains to be seen if INEOS chiefs would deem him a worthwhile investment when their main priority before 2026/2027 gets underway is overhauling the midfield.
