Romário’s América-RJ sign ex-Flamengo forward Caio Rangel for Série D | OneFootball

América-RJ, led by Romário, have completed the signing of former Flamengo forward Caio Rangel for their Série D campaign. According to Coluna Do Fla, the 30-year-old arrives to bolster the squad.

Rangel joins after a spell with Monsoon in Rio Grande do Sul, and is expected to be unveiled in the coming days.

A Flamengo academy graduate and former Brazil youth international, he moved to Cagliari in January 2014 after training with Flamengo from age 11 but without a senior appearance.

He remained in Europe until 2016 with Arouca, then returned to Brazil, featuring for Cruzeiro, Criciúma, Juventude, Paraná, São Bento, Ferroviária-SP, Santo André, Brasil de Pelotas and Chapecoense.

América-RJ will represent Rio de Janeiro in Série D and have been drawn in Group A13 with Água Santa-SP, Pouso Alegre-MG, Madureira, Portuguesa-RJ and Portuguesa-SP.
