Valencia have reiterated their trust in Carlos Corberán despite Mestalla dissent in recent games. Speaking to DAZN before Sunday’s match, RON GOURLAY, the club’s CEO of football, said the head coach is not under threat and has the board’s full backing.

The mood turned on Wednesday when Athletic knocked Valencia out of the Copa del Rey quarter-finals at Mestalla, prompting whistles and reproach from the stands.

Calls for Corberán to resign have been heard in several recent home matches. The exception was the win over Espanyol, when the coach was applauded off.

Gourlay had already underlined that stance on Thursday during a press conference reviewing the winter window, stressing the club are not contemplating a change.
