Ronaldinho calls himself one of the ‘biggest fans‘ of Barcelona captain

FC Barcelona have had their share of legendary players throughout their rich history, but few have captivated Blaugrana fans as much as the Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho.

It has been many years since he left the Catalan club, yet his bond with Barcelona remains strong. As Mundo Deportivo has reported, he still remembers his time at the club fondly, as he explained in an interview with France Football.

One of the highlights of the Samba star’s time with the Blaugrana was winning the Ballon d’Or in 2005. Speaking about this moment, he was at a loss for words to describe what it meant to him:

“It was a dream come true. I have no words to describe the emotion I felt at that moment and everything it meant to me.”

Another moment he recalled from his time at Barcelona was his goal against Sevilla in his first game:

“I always joke that it was my moment! From that first day, I knew something big was happening. I experienced magical moments in Barcelona. I won extraordinary trophies with great players by my side. It was a wonderful time.”

Beyond reflecting on his own legacy, Ronaldinho also spoke fondly about the current generation at Barcelona. In particular, he expressed admiration for Raphinha, going as far as calling himself one of his ‘biggest fans‘, while also praising the astronomical rise of Lamine Yamal.

Of Raphinha, he said:

”I would also like to highlight Raphinha, whom I have known since he was a child. He is from the same city as me, I consider myself a friend of his father, and I am one of his biggest fans.”

On Lamine Yamal, he added:

“Lamine Yamal, who is only at the beginning of a career that has started very strongly. He is capable of incredible plays, and I hope he continues to delight us.”

There is no doubt that there will never be another player like Ronaldinho. However, Barcelona fans are fortunate to have seen other highly skilful players represent their team, with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha among such examples in the current squad.
