Ronaldinho & Friends star at Stadium of Light legends exhibition | OneFootball

Fresh from Sunday’s 2-1 win over Chelsea on Wearside that sealed Europa League football for Regis Le Bris’ side, the Stadium of Light hosted a Bank Holiday Monday legends exhibition.

According to Sunderland Echo, Brazilian great Ronaldinho fronted one side, with Jermain Defoe captaining the UK Icons in a celebratory run out.

Team Ronaldinho included Helton Arruda, Gilberto Silva, Andre Santos, Maicon, Ronaldinho, Douglas Costa, Philippe Coutinho, Ramires, Kleberson, Djibril Cisse, Nicklas Bendtner, Nwankwo Kanu and Diego Costa.

Defoe’s UK Icons carried a strong Sunderland flavour, featuring Heurelho Gomes, Phil Bardsley, Danny Collins, Pascal Chimbonda, Michael Dawson, Jermaine Pennant, Aaron Lennon, Lee Cattermole, Sandro, Steven Fletcher, Kevin Phillips and Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Sunderland owners Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and Juan Sartori also took to the pitch, alongside director of football Florent Ghisolfi, as thousands of home supporters enjoyed the early summer sunshine.
