Rosario Central rested their entire first team in the Argentine league ahead of Thursday’s decider with Corinthians, with regular goalkeeper Ledesma among those spared.
According to Meu Timao, Jorge Almirón’s side to face Barracas Central tonight included Werner, J. Giménez, Mallo, Verón, G. Fernández, Navarro, Soto, A. Rodríguez, J. Fernández and Badaloni.
By contrast, the goalless first meeting on Thursday featured Ledesma, Coronel, Ovando, Ávila, Sández, Ibarra, Pizarro, Cantizano, Di María, Campaz and Copetti.
Corinthians, meanwhile, went close to full strength against Cruzeiro on Sunday, with only Raniele rested. Fernando Diniz selected Hugo Souza, Matheuzinho, Gustavo Henrique, Gabriel Paulista, Matheus Bidu, Allan, André Carrillo, Breno Bidon, Rodrigo Garro, Kaio César and Pedro Raul.
Rosario are seventh in Group B and need a win to move closer to the quarter-final places, as only the top six advance. Corinthians are ninth in the Brasileirão with 32 points.
The decider is on Thursday 20 at 21h30 at Neo Química Arena. After a 0-0 draw in Argentina, the winner reaches the quarter-finals, while another draw would take it to penalties.
