Liam Rosenior has provided fitness updates on Estevao Willian and Enzo Fernandez after the duo were forced off during Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Manchester United.
Estevao started the important Premier League clash and threatened to score with a shot that shaved the post.
But he pulled up while chasing a lofted pass behind the United backline.
Despite receiving treatment, the teenage sensation couldn’t continue and limped off the pitch in the 16th minute.
Fernandez returned to the side after being dropped for the last two games over his controversial comments.
The Argentine couldn’t complete the game and was forced off in the 88th minute.
In his post-match press conference, Rosenior said about Estevao: “He was crying at half time – it was really devastating for him.
“It looks like it’s his hamstring, and that has happened in a moment when he’s running through on their goal for a one-v-one chance – he pulls his hamstring in that moment.
“I hope Este comes back sooner rather than later.”
On Fernandez, Rosenior added: “I’m hoping it’s cramp – he’s getting work on it right now because we want him, obviously, fit for Tuesday [against Brighton and Hove Albion].”
Saturday’s loss was a devastating blow to Chelsea’s hopes of securing Champions League football for next season.
The Blues had a chance to close the gap with fifth-placed Liverpool ahead of the Merseyside derby on Sunday.
But they failed to breach United’s defence, despite Michael Carrick deploying Noussair Mazraoui and Ayden Heaven as emergency centre-backs after a late injury to Leny Yoro.
Matheus Cunha scored the decisive goal in the 43rd minute, as the Red Devils moved 10 points clear of the London outfit.
Chelsea suffered their fourth consecutive Premier League defeat for only the second time this century.
