Football League World asked ChatGPT if Sam Allardyce will return to management following Roy Hodgson's Bristol City appointment
Roy Hodgson has returned to Bristol City 44 years on from his initial Ashton Gate exit.
The 78-year-old has joined the West Country club on an interim basis, having left them back in 1982, amid severe financial difficulties, which almost saw the Robins fold.
Bristol City began the season with hopes of landing a Championship play-off spot for the second consecutive campaign, but they have sunk to lower mid-table, and Hodgson will be proud if he can steer them to a top-half finish.
Recently sacked boss Gerhard Struber didn't meet expectations at Ashton Gate, but star players Anis Mehmeti and Zak Vyner were sold to Ipswich Town and Wrexham, respectively in the winter transfer window, and the Robins have seen several defensive injuries this term.
Meanwhile, following Hodgson's surprise return to management, Football League World asked ChatGPT to predict whether fellow ex-England boss Sam Allardyce will return to the dugout.

Allardyce hasn't returned to football management since a short stint at Leeds United at the end of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign, which was ultimately unsuccessful, as he couldn't help the Whites avoid an unwanted Championship return.
The Elland Road outfit subsequently restored their top-flight status under Daniel Farke in 2025, although they did suffer play-off final heartache the previous season.
Meanwhile, when asked to predict whether Allardyce would return to management following Hodgson's Bristol City return, ChatGPT outlined that he could do so, but only in a specific way.
The AI tool said that the 71-year-old could join a struggling Premier League or Championship side, but only if it was a 'nothing to lose' style appointment, for the final five or 10 games of the campaign just as he did with Leeds.
ChatGPT concluded that Allardyce could make a Hodgson-style interim return to football management, but another longer-term chapter is very unlikely and it would be difficult to see him managing in the Premier League again, it must be said.
In AI's words, the real question isn't 'Will Allardyce return?', it's 'Will a desperate club decide they need him?', and that conundrum never completely goes away.

The current campaign has produced several intriguing narratives in both the Championship and the Premier League, with Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion locked in the second-tier relegation battle despite beginning the campaign with promotion aspirations.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur could be relegated from the top flight, which would be one of the biggest stories in the modern English game.
The Scottish Premiership season has also created plenty of intrigue, as Hearts are capable of winning the title instead of Celtic or Rangers.
Amid their relative struggles, Celtic have called upon veteran manager Martin O'Neill, who previously took charge of the Glaswegian giants over 20 years ago.
Meanwhile, in the National League South, former Cardiff City and Huddersfield Town boss Neil Warnock, now 77 years old, enjoyed a brief interim spell at Torquay United.
Hodgson has continued that trend by returning to Bristol City, and such patterns could indicate that Allardyce, who celebrated his 71st birthday in October, may also be called upon one day.
