Roy Keane suggests Diego Simeone for Manchester United
Club legend Roy Keane has once again made headlines. Invited to comment on the situation of Rúben Amorim, current Manchester United manager, the former Red Devils captain shared his thoughts on the future of the United dugout.
As always, frank and direct, Roy Keane did not mince his words regarding Manchester United. With the club experiencing a mixed start to the Premier League season, the former captain believes Rúben Amorim deserves a bit more time.
He should be given a chance, yes. Another week.
But if he had to imagine a successor, the Irishman has a clear favorite: Diego Simeone, current Atlético Madrid coach:
I’ve been saying it for years: I’d love to see Simeone at Manchester United. He’d create chaos, but the right kind of chaos! There are never any guarantees, but I’d like to see his personality and qualities there.
Having taken charge of Los Colchoneros in 2011, Simeone is now one of the most respected managers in world football. His contract with the Madrid club runs until 2027, but his name frequently comes up whenever a major European job becomes available.
