Ruben Amorim: Milan manager identifies 2 Sporting players as targets | OneFootball

Serie A giants Milan finally seem to have a sporting structure in place but Ruben Amorim is expected to have a significant say over dealings.

A host of names have been spoken of as targets in recent weeks but Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed that two of them are of keen interest to Amorim.

Those are Sporting stars Trincao and midfielder Morten Hjulmand, who was also constantly mentioned as a target for him during the Manchester United days.

While those two could be important targets, Amorim is keen on assessing the current squad before making any major transfer decisions. He will see whether they fit into the 3-4-2-1 and then decide on possible targets.

The report also confirms that even if Pedro Goncalves has been mentioned as a target, he isn’t on the Rossoneri shortlist.

Full manager control never a good idea

It feels like Amorim will have a major say over transfers but for a massive club, this shouldn’t be the case. Managers often operate on emotions and past connections, when there are better deals out there sometimes.

Milan should know that by now, especially as none of Trincao or Hjulmand will come in for cheap.
