Ruben Amorim says that he feels a bit embarrassed to hear his chant, and that as a manager he doesn’t think fans should be chanting for him.
He said: “I don’t like my chant! I feel a bit embarassed because I’m a coach! They have to chant for the players and the club. I understand and I really appreciate the connection with the supporters, but I want them to support the team and the players, because they are on the pitch and I’m outside of it but I am really honoured about that. I feel the connection with the supporters but we know that we need the results to maintain that.”
If United keep winning like they did in the 4-0 victory over Everton, he’ll certainly keep hearing the chant, even if he doesn’t want to.
Speaking on injuries, Amorim confirmed that Lenny Yoro is back in training. “I feel he is in a good moment now, his fitness is better, so I think he is going to be in the squad.” Amorim also confirmed that Bruno Fernandes will be fit for the Arsenal game.
United face Arsenal on Wednesday, and on the game Amorim said: “Arsenal are the best team we face by far [so far]. The last game yesterday was really tough. It was 4-0 but I see the game how I see it. Everything now is a test without so much minutes to train, trying to manage minutes for players. Some players have to be off after 60 or 70 minutes, everything is a test. It’s hard for us at United to say but [Arsenal] are at a different point in their team.”
