Ruben Amorim talk grows again at Benfica | OneFootball

A change in Benfica’s head coach is not currently on the agenda, yet speculation outside the club is intensifying. According to Glorioso 1904, while José Mourinho remains in post, alternatives are being discussed in case of an unexpected exit.

In that scenario, Rui Costa would assess the market for available coaches. Among the leading names is Ruben Amorim, now unattached after leaving Manchester United midway through the season.

Despite being free, the Portuguese coach is not prioritising a return to domestic football in the short term. That stance could shift if a concrete offer arrived, given his emotional bond with Benfica.

He made his name at Sporting, winning several trophies and broad recognition. Despite that association with a rival, many Benfica supporters still see him as a credible option for the club’s future.
