Espanyol have entered a new phase under sporting director Monchi, who has retained Manolo González as head coach. As they reshape the squad with Europe in mind after a late-season slide, right-back Rubén Sánchez is now on the market.

According to Superdeporte, the 25-year-old appears likely to leave the RCDE Stadium, with indications he could depart on a free despite having one year left on his contract.

Sánchez is viewed as an appealing option for several mid-table Primera División clubs.

He has made more than 100 appearances across the Primera and Segunda División.

This season he featured in 22 matches for Espanyol, scoring one goal and providing one assist. He is awaiting a quick resolution of his situation.
