Rudi Völler ‘to remain’ as DFB sporting director through to Euro 2028 | OneFootball

Rudi Völler will remain as DFB sporting director through to the end of his current deal in 2028, keeping him in post for UEFA Euro 2028, according to Sky Germany.

It reflects the clear wish of Germany’s designated new Bundestrainer Jürgen Klopp, who has already spoken with Völler by phone.

Negotiations involving the DFB and Klopp are expected to begin later this week on Friday, 10 July, in New York.

Discussions over Klopp’s exit from Red Bull, where he is Global Head of Soccer, will follow shortly afterwards.

Völler is a former Germany international striker.
