Rudi Völler ‘to remain’ DFB sporting director through to Euro 2028 | OneFootball

Rudi Völler will continue as DFB sporting director until 2028, according to Sky Germany.

The extension keeps the former Germany striker in post through UEFA Euro 2028.

The move is also the clear wish of Germany’s designated new Bundestrainer, Jürgen Klopp, who has already spoken with Völler by phone.

Negotiations involving both the DFB and Klopp are expected to begin on Friday, 10 July, in New York.

Discussions over Klopp’s exit from Red Bull, for whom he is Global Head of Soccer, will follow shortly afterwards.
