Russell Martin denied Leicester reunion as Matt Gill stays at West Brom | OneFootball

Russell Martin will not be reunited with Matt Gill at Leicester City after West Brom confirmed on Tuesday the assistant will stay at The Hawthorns.

The club said in a statement that Gill will continue as assistant head coach to James Morrison. He joined for the final 11 matches and helped deliver a 10-game unbeaten run to secure safety.

Martin has signed a three-year deal at the King Power, and his backroom team is expected to be confirmed in the near future.

Gill had worked under him at Swansea City, Southampton and Rangers, and had been linked with a move to Leicester before Martin took the job.

Morrison, initially interim at West Brom, has since been appointed permanently. Gill will remain as his number two.
