Chelsea need a player like Manchester United star Casemiro according to former Blues player and manager Ruud Gullit.

Having had a quiet January, the Blues now face a critical summer with a new head coach needing to be appointed, and reinforcements to the squad required.

Chelsea are thought to be in the market for a centre back, whilst they are believed to want to add another midfielder and attacker.

Chelsea told they need a player like Casemiro

The Blues have been heavily criticised for their youth focused transfer policy, but co-owner Behdad Eghbali has said the model will be tweaked.

It’s also been reported that Chelsea are prepared to target players with proven Premier League experience, and they’ve been linked with Morgan Rogers and Anthony Gordon.

The squad is suffering with a lack of quality, leadership and know how, and Gullit believes Chelsea need a player like Casemiro.

“It looks like they get a bunch of the best young players, and the coach who comes in has to deal with what’s there, with no input on who arrives.

“They need a Casemiro. ‘I need players with experience in midfield’ — and if you don’t have them, it’s going to be a problem,” he said as quoted on X.com.
