Illes Balears Palma Futsal are in Pesaro, but their trip has been marred after Ryanair misplaced the suitcase containing their official green and purple kits for the UEFA Futsal Champions League Final Four starting on Friday.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the airline, which flew them from Palma to Bologna via Barcelona, could not locate the key bag, and the squad continued to Pesaro, 155 kilometres away, under time pressure.

The UEFA official team photograph is slated for Wednesday, which is impossible without the shirts. On Thursday comes the mandatory kit inspection to validate logos, numbers and other regulatory details.

Ryanair has warned that, even if the suitcase is found, delivery to the team hotel, the Charlie in Pesaro, could take up to three days. Staff were advised to leave someone at the airport to speed any handover.

As a stopgap, Palma have the yellow shirt with a red stripe, usually worn by goalkeepers and nodding to the Illes Balears, with enough units for everyone if required.

They also have the white strip, needed if they face Sporting de Portugal to avoid a colour clash, although it would coincide with Etoile Lavalloise.

The remaining kits in Palma are league versions carrying multiple sponsors, which are not allowed in the Champions League where only one, ConectaBalear, can appear, so they are unusable. With margins shrinking, the three-time European champions need their regular colours back quickly to defend their crown.
