Ismael Saibari briefly held the fastest goal of the 2026 World Cup on a night that also sealed the United States’ last 32 spot, Brazil’s first win and Haiti’s elimination. Records fell and the group picture shifted.
Morocco beat Scotland 1-0, Saibari striking inside two minutes at Gillette Stadium. Achraf Hakimi was booed at every touch after confirmation he has been sent to trial on a rape charge. Morocco are well placed to reach the last 32.
That mark fell within hours as Paraguay beat Türkiye 1-0. Galarza punished a turnover with a fierce shot from 25 metres to open the scoring.
The United States made it two wins from two by beating Australia 2-0, through a Cameron Burgess own goal on 11 minutes and Alex Freeman on 43. They have six points and are through, with Türkiye next on 26 June. Australia face Paraguay the same day.
Brazil beat Haiti 3-0 in Philadelphia to move top of Group C ahead of Morocco. Matheus Cunha scored on 23 and 36 minutes, Vinicius Jr added a third on 45+3, and Endrick got his first minutes. Raphinha went off on 40 with a hamstring issue, while Haiti’s second defeat confirmed their exit without a goal.
Iran’s federation condemned the United States’ handling of visas, with part of the squad forced to base in Tijuana between matches. Secretary general Hedayat Mombeyni described the treatment as a scandal and argued it breaches FIFA rules, adding that an appeal has been lodged.
