Cameroonian FA chief under scrutiny after unpaid Mexico match dues
Samuel Eto’o in Hot Water Over Missing $600,000 Friendly Fee
Cameroon football legend Samuel Eto’o's under fire after reports surfaced that 600000 Dollar meant for the national team's allegedly gone missing.
According to Actu Cameroun, the money was match fee due to the Cameroonian national team for playing friendly against Mexico in the U.S in 2023. However players haven't received any payment to this day.
A formal complaint's reportedly been filed with the U.S Federal Bureau of Investigation FBI and the Department of Justice, triggering potential international investigation.
While Eto’o isn't directly named as suspect, his role as President of the Cameroonian Football Federation FECAFOOT makes him the primary figure responsible for fund distribution.
The former Barcelona, Inter Milan and Anzhi Makhachkala striker played in Russia between 2011 & 2013 scoring 25 goal in 53 match. He has been FECAFOOT president since 2021.
