Sport BILD reports Leroy Sané has adjusted well to a substitute role with Germany as the 2026 World Cup nears.
He has been seen laughing and joking with team-mates, bringing positive energy. In training he has worked energetically and tenaciously, then stayed to sign autographs and pose for selfies.
Team-mates are said to have noticed a complete transformation. Previously he could appear withdrawn, sometimes isolating himself and occasionally slipping into a bad mood.
At 30 he bridges the squad’s generations and is viewed as a key communicator. He remains close to former Bayern colleagues, notably Jamal Musiala and Aleks Pavlović, and often organises UNO games in downtime to lift the atmosphere.
Sané also has a strong rapport with Lennart Karl, considered his main rival in the position. They know each other from Bayern and stayed in touch after Sané’s move to Galatasaray.
Julian Nagelsmann has praised this refreshed version of Sané. In previous tournaments, debate frequently surrounded his switches between the starting 11 and the bench.
