Santa Clara strike early against Vitória S.C. to climb to 15th | OneFootball

Santa Clara beat Vitória S.C. 2-0 at Estádio de São Miguel to rise from 17th to 15th in Liga Portugal.

Sidney Lima guided in Guilherme Romão's cross from a set piece in the sixth minute, before Welinton's close-range header doubled the lead (14.).

Gabriel Batista protected the advantage with five saves, thwarting the visitors either side of the interval.

After half time changes, the visitors pushed on. Gonçalo Nogueira drew another smart stop from Batista (68.). Welinton later went off injured after treatment.

Santa Clara registered four shots on target and made the early moments count. Vitória S.C. finished with 61.5% possession and 14 attempts but could not find a way through.
