Santos agree Alex Nascimento loan to Ponte Preta | OneFootball

Diario Do Peixe reports that Santos have agreed to loan defender Alex Nascimento to Ponte Preta, with the clubs now exchanging contract drafts.

Out of the coaching staff's plans, he has trained separately since the start of the year. His deal runs to December, so he could sign a pre-contract and leave for free, although his camp is discussing a possible extension with Santos before the loan.

A São Paulo academy graduate who also spent time at Fluminense, Alex joined Santos in 2019 to play for the under-20s. He debuted for the senior side the following year but struggled to secure a run.

He was loaned to Famalicão in Portugal in 2021 and 2022, making 22 appearances, then returned to limited opportunities amid injuries and Covid-19. After recovering, he earned minutes under Paulo Turra and even established himself in 2023, though he played only seven matches before suffering a right ankle fracture in September. He began 2024 in physiotherapy yet has featured five times in Série B against Avaí, Amazonas, Ceará, Paysandu and Ponte Preta.

For Santos' first team he has 34 games and one goal, scored against Flamengo in the 2022 Brasileiro.

Last year he was loaned to Portuguesa for six matches, then to Athletic, where he played nine times.
