Santos will be without Neymar and Gabigol for Saturday’s 13th-round trip to Bahia, scheduled for 18:30 at Arena Fonte Nova. According to Diario Do Peixe, Neymar is being rested by the coaching staff while Gabigol is suspended after a third yellow card.
This season, Santos have played five matches without the pair and are yet to win. Those games produced two draws, against Guarani in the Paulistão and Cruzeiro in the Brasileirão, and three defeats, to Chapecoense and Athletico-PR in the league and Deportivo Cuenca in the Copa Sudamericana.
Across 24 fixtures in 2026, Neymar and Gabigol have featured together only eight times. That includes two outings in the Paulistão, four in the Brasileirão, one in the Sudamericana and one in the Copa do Brasil.
Both had started in Santos’s last four matches before this weekend. In the eight games they played together, Santos won two, drew three and lost three, scoring 13 and conceding nine.
Individually, Neymar has contributed two goals and two assists in those joint appearances. Gabigol has delivered four goals and five assists as Santos look to end their winless run without the duo.
