Santos extend contract of 18-year-old Samuel Pierri until 2029 | OneFootball

Santos have extended the contract of midfielder Samuel Pierri to 31 January 2029, the club announced on Monday. The 18-year-old's previous deal had run until April 2027.

Pierri turned 18 in January and made his professional debut this season under coach Cuca. Amid a series of absences, he featured in the Brasileiro and the Copa Sudamericana.

In the academy he began as a more advanced central midfielder, but this season he has played as a holding midfielder for the under-20s, catching Cuca's eye.

He debuted in the draw with San Lorenzo of Argentina in the 5th round of the Copa Sudamericana group stage.

He also appeared in the final minutes against Grêmio, then gained second-half minutes in the win over Deportivo Cuenca (EQU), a result that secured Santos a place in the competition's playoffs.

His longest outing came in the victory over Vitória, when he entered at half-time in place of Christian Oliva.

Pierri described playing for Santos as a childhood dream, having joined at 10, and said he is delighted to be in the senior squad and wants to win trophies for the supporters.
