Santos fans sell out Coritiba clash at Neo Química Arena | OneFootball

Santos supporters have snapped up every ticket for Sunday’s 11:00 meeting with Coritiba at Neo Química Arena, part of the 16th round of the Brasileirão.

According to Diario Do Peixe, members had priority on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12, before general sale began on Wednesday 13. After website instability prompted two club notices, the platform stabilised on Thursday morning and the sale concluded by lunchtime. If returns arise, a further batch could be released.

The match was moved from Vila Belmiro, with the board seeking closer proximity between fans and pitch to create a 12th player effect and to stage a major occasion. The stadium’s playing surface and wider hospitality offering also weighed in, potentially lifting revenue. Santos will cover rental and operating costs, with the remainder counted as profit.

Internally, the club expects net income more than twice that of games at Vila Belmiro. Their biggest profit of the year to date also came at Neo Química Arena, when they hosted Red Bull Bragantino in the Paulista. There is also a wish to serve supporters in the capital and nearby cities.

In previous São Paulo fixtures, Santos saw a positive uptick in Sócio Rei membership and aim to retain members based there. The fixture falls one day before Brazil’s World Cup call-up, a context that could boost its appeal. It is also framed as a last opportunity for Neymar Jr to try to convince Carlo Ancelotti of a squad place.
