Santos will be without midfielders Gabriel Menino and João Schmidt for an indefinite period after both sustained muscle injuries.

According to Globo.com, scans on Friday confirmed muscle injuries to the back of the right thigh for both players. They have begun rehabilitation at the club’s medical department and will miss Sunday’s Brasileirão match against Coritiba at 11:00 Brasília time at Neo Química Arena in the 16th round.

Menino had been sidelined with a thigh problem, returned in the last match and featured only briefly before suffering pain again. He left on a stretcher in tears and was consoled by Neymar.

Schmidt had been starting after winning the role over Willian Arão, who should now return against Coritiba.

Luan Peres, who missed the last two matches due to a fracture in his left hand, has been training with protection and is expected to be included.
