Santos have rejected a loan offer, including an option to buy, from a Slovak club for goalkeeper Rodrigo Falcão, according to Diario Do Peixe.
The board consider him part of their plans and had already turned down another proposal from the same side and approaches from Portugal and Asia. He recently extended his contract until January 2029, with his previous deal due to expire in October this year.
Falcão was first-choice at the Copa São Paulo, his final youth tournament after ageing out, and has trained with the senior squad since but is yet to make his debut. He competes with Gabriel Brazão and Diógenes, while Under-20 keeper João Pedro is also training with the first team and is close to a new deal.
He was on the bench twice in April, at Flamengo in the league and away to Cuenca in Ecuador in the Sudamericana.
Last year he returned after an anterior cruciate ligament injury and a fractured little finger, starred for the Under-20s and saved penalties in their Paulista title run. He played 18 matches in the Brasileiro and 17 in the state competition at that level.
In 2024 he trained with the first team and was registered on the Paulistão List B, making the bench in the first eight rounds, then in mid February he suffered an ACL and meniscus injury to his left knee. At the time he also turned down an offer from Al-Nassr, Saudi Arabia.
Born in 2005 in Santos, he began at Meninos da Vila, then played futsal with Gremetal before returning to Santos and switching to football at 10.
