Santos set opponents and dates for Portugal training camp | OneFootball

Santos have confirmed their opponents and dates for a training camp in Portugal, scheduled for five to 11 July. They will face Gil Vicente and Vitória de Guimarães and have arranged a training game with Santa Clara.

According to Globo.com, first up is Gil Vicente on eight July. Two days later Santa Clara provide a training run-out. The programme concludes against Vitória on 12 July at Estádio D. Afonso Henriques.

The Santa Clara meeting was initially planned as a friendly, but with the club shortening their time in Europe it has been recast as a training game.

Among the three, Gil Vicente posted the best league finish, sixth in the national championship, with Vitória ninth and Santa Clara 13th.

Santos will be based in Guimarães, around 30 minutes from Porto, a choice the club believes will ease their return because of the nearby airport.

Head coach Cuca views the camp positively, seeing scope for meaningful tests and a return to the second half of the year with greater match sharpness. He also hopes to be able to call on reinforcements for the games in Portugal.
