Santos have met Robinho Jr’s representatives but made no progress on a renewal. His camp want a sporting plan and more first‑team minutes before extending. According to Diario Do Peixe, the club prefer to formalise a deal first to avoid a shop‑window scenario.
His contract runs to April 2027, so he can sign a pre‑contract in October and leave for free, and the board are pushing to renew. An addendum agreed in July last year was a step towards 2030, but it has not been formalised.
There is no plan for him to return to the under‑20s, despite a one‑off appearance against Corinthians in September before that side won the state title. His camp want clarity on minutes and output, and he now wears the number 7 in reference to his father. He has been watched by Inter Milan, and at 18 he remains eligible for the under‑20s for two more years.
This year he has played five Paulistão matches, was a substitute in three, and was left out of the quarter‑finals after discomfort, head coach Vojvoda said. In the league he featured on 28 January against Chapecoense, his last outing, and has been on the bench since. He was not in the squad for Thursday’s 2-1 win over Vasco at Vila Belmiro.
Juninho made his senior debut last year, officially appearing in the 1-0 win over Flamengo on 16 July, the 14th round of the Brasileiro. He finished the season with one assist in 15 league games.
Born on 17 December 2007, Robson de Souza Junior joined Santos in May 2022 after a successful trial, with his training contract published on 1 June in the CBF’s BID. He initially played little in the under‑15s and skipped the 2023 under‑17, then broke through in 2024 in youth tournaments and won strong backing from fans, including praise from Neymar Jr and Gabigol. A winger, he is the son of Robinho, a two‑time Brazilian champion and Copa do Brasil winner with Santos, who is imprisoned for his role in a group sexual assault in Italy.
